About David
David has been with Pariveda in the Houston office for one year. During that time he has developed an expertise in business intelligence ETL software, user interface design, and software development on the Android platform, and he is an open source software evangelist.
Experience
David has five years experience in software development. He specializes in user interface design and prototyping and has worked on a variety of web development and business intelligence projects, mobile phone applications, and 3d modeling software. He has presented on a variety of topics at conferences such as TexGraph, the Texas Open Source Symposium, and PhotoCamp Houston.
While attending school at Texas A&M, David helped create a popular open source 3d modeling application that has been downloaded over 60,000 times by users around the world since 2007, and also served on the IT Steering Committee for the Texas A&M College of Architecture. David has also taught courses at Texas A&M at the graduate and undergraduate level dealing with graphic design, computer aided drafting, 3d modeling and animation, and architectural design. At Pariveda Solutions, David has helped build a gross margin protection system for a large retail energy provider, as well as a prototype mobile phone application for the Android platform.
Just for Fun
David enjoys photography and 3d modeling and has a keen interest in rapid prototyping technology. He is also an avid skier and tennis player, and often pretends to be good at golf.
Education and Service
David received a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Design from Texas A&M University in 2005, and a Master of Science in Visualization Sciences from A&M in 2007. He is a Big Brother through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Houston, and also volunteers with the MS150 and the Downtown Houston Alliance.
