Overview
In his current role as Director of Strategic Finance, Mark works with the executive leadership team on a variety of projects, including M&A due diligence and integration, enterprise risk assessment, international expansion, and multi-year financial forecasts. He also fills roles on multiple cross-functional teams at Pariveda leveraging and growing his experience as a Finance subject matter expert, facilitator, and collaborative partner. Mark has a passion for creating and delivering financial education courses to internal and external audiences.
Experience
In his prior role as Controller at Pariveda, Mark oversaw the full cycle of accounting processes including monthly close, financial statement reporting, and Financial Planning & Analytics. He led the team in the search & selection, and implementation of the General Ledger (GL) and Professional Services Automation (PSA) systems and multiple subsequent upgrades. Before joining Pariveda, Mark worked in the Assurance practice at Ernst & Young, performing full-scope audits of public and private companies across a variety of industries, focused on retail, manufacturing, and software. He was also an Internal Audit Manager at a public broadcast company.
Outside the office
Outside the office, Mark enjoys time with his wife and fellow EY alum Jessica and their two young boys. Together they spend time camping and hiking or playing elaborate, often homemade board and adventure games. When his time & skills allow for it, Mark loves to tackle DIY home projects; and when he cannot, he will follow contractors around his home, observing and asking questions in an effort to soak in their expertise.
Education and service
Mark received a Master of Accountancy and BBA, majoring in Accounting, from Baylor University in Texas. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Texas. Mark volunteers in various capacities in his church, as Parks Liaison and Treasurer of his neighborhood association and as a Den Leader in his local Boy Scout Troop.
