Pariveda PRIDE supports the Equality and Customer Non-Discrimination Act

Pariveda Solutions is a part of the Business Coalition for the Equality Act, a group of leading U.S. employers supporting U.S. federal legislation that would provide the same basic protections to LGBTQ people as are provided to other protected groups under federal law. 

Launched in March 2016, the Business Coalition for the Equality Act includes companies with operations in all 50 states and a combined $4.9 trillion in revenue. According to the Human Rights Campaign, the 257 companies that make up the Coalition employ over 11.5 million people in the United States.

The Equality Act creates clear, consistent protections to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in employment. Additionally, the bill provides protections from discrimination for LGBTQ people in a number of areas, including housing, credit, jury service, and public spaces and services.

In our ongoing efforts towards prioritizing opportunities to foster diversity and inclusion in ways that support change, the Pariveda P.R.I.D.E.(Pariveda Respect, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity) Employee Resource Group supports the Customer Non-Discrimination Act. If passed, this legislation would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to prohibit discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity in public accommodations. Additionally, it would update the public spaces and services covered in current law to include retail stores, services such as banks and legal services, healthcare providers, and transportation services.
