Overview
As Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Orrell works to ensure Pariveda defines appropriate approaches for technology and delivery at our clients, identifies and develops frameworks that will improve our delivery execution and the resulting solutions, and helps develop our consultant’s skills in emerging technologies and methodologies. In addition, he oversees the Agility Team which defines and teaches Pariveda’s Agile Methodology, leads the .NET practice, and initiated the Pariveda New/Next Incubator which drives innovation and new service offerings. His presentations on Agility and industry trends are delivered across the country, and he is an active participant in recruiting and employee training.
Experience
Mr. Brian Orrell has more than 17 years of technology consulting experience in a variety of industries and technologies. His emphasis is on the delivery of enterprise solutions using Agile methods with a particular specialization in Microsoft .NET. His areas of expertise include designing, developing, and maintaining web-based and distributed object systems.
Mr. Orrell has led large-scale development engagements for large utility companies, airlines, educational organizations, shipping companies, and non-profit organizations.
His technical experience has led to multiple speaking engagements regarding the management of large-scale development projects and custom software development. Mr. Orrell has also taught courses on development methodology, .NET development, and SQL optimization.
Mr. Orrell has served at BSG Alliance IT and has served in leadership positions at Southwest Airlines, Tactica Technology Group, and Hitachi Consulting. His leadership experience includes managing teams to deliver: online bill pay services for a large utility company, a scheduling and tracking system for a large airline, an online educational testing system for state school systems, and a supply-chain tracking and routing system for one of the largest logistics companies in the world.
Outside of the office
Brian loves to travel and is always looking for the next new place to go, and he likes to cook as a stress reliever. As a devout “early adopter,” he can be convinced to try any new technical gadget that comes along.
Education and service
Brian is involved in the Agile Project Leadership Network and enjoys blogging on all things technology related. He loves to teach and is a geek at heart, so he is always looking for community service opportunities where he can combine his love of technology with service to others. Brian attended Southern Methodist University.
