The ECHO Leadership Framework, Part 2 with CEO Margaret Rogers

Margaret Rogers website header

About the episode

Pariveda CEO Margaret Rogers closes out Part 2 of the The ECHO Leadership Framework with a practical look at what it takes to lead inside complexity while maintaining your values. Building on the ecosystem pillar from part one, Margaret unpacks the remaining three pillars, courage, humility, and ownership, and shares how to move each one from idea to behavior within an organization.

She shares how courage shows up as calculated risk-taking, honest self-reflection, and the willingness to make decisions that will not satisfy everyone. From there, she explores humility as mission-first stewardship, including how Pariveda navigated pay reductions to protect jobs, and why listening is the core discipline behind being a “first call” partner. She closes with ownership, the daily work of codifying values into decision-making, building shared accountability, and avoiding “death by a thousand cuts” when teams operate with different assumptions.

You’ll learn

  • How to build courage as a leadership practice: values, self-honesty, and calculated risks
  • What “trust through action” looks like in client relationships
  • How humility becomes an operating system for stewardship, feedback, and long-term choices
  • How to institutionalize ownership so values guide decisions at scale, across teams and micro-cultures
  • A simple three-question filter to run a decision through courage, humility, and ownership this week

About the host

Margaret Rogers, the Host of the Doing Good by Doing Better Podcast, serves as the CEO of Pariveda Solutions, a strategy and technology services firm with a mission to help people develop, catalyze, and discover their potential. She found her way into consulting right out of school, back when dial-up, blinking text, and wallpaper backgrounds defined the web. As User Experience began to emerge, she transitioned from technologist to roles where she was able to explore human-centered design. Margaret is fascinated by the uniqueness of human dynamics in business and is deeply invested in advising leaders on how to design organizations that nurture a strong culture and operational excellence. Her love of learning also extends well beyond the workplace, most recently into the curious behaviors of sourdough starters and backyard hens, who, much like people, have a surprising amount to teach about rhythms, relationships, and the environments they need to thrive.
