Understanding how to build a meal delivery platform that enables drivers to bring more meals to children in need.

Result

Pariveda leveraged their Home Delivery Platform solution to allow for Kids Meals to scale past their standard of 7000 meals delivered. They migrated the database, simplified driver navigation and logistics, and alerted customers when meals were on the way.

Kids' Meals Home Delivery - Kids’ Meals is a first-responder to children aged 5 and under facing debilitating hunger, with a mission to end childhood hunger.

Every day in the Houston community there are more than 50,000 preschool-aged children who live unsure of their next meal. That is 1 out of 4 Houston preschool-aged children. Kids’ Meals is bridging the gap for those families who have little means of obtaining meals for their young children on a regular basis. They are the only home meal delivery program in the nation for poverty-stricken preschool-aged children.

The organization has grown into a fleet with 13 vans servicing over 7,000 meals a day and is looking towards further expanding to serve 27,000 meals per day by 2031.

Leveraging technology to provide impact at scale in the community.

The current system relies heavily on manual processes and uses spreadsheets to track logistics, which will not sufficiently scale. Kids’ Meals were looking for a Home Delivery platform that will greatly improve routing, tracking, and the driver’s ability to reach and connect with the families in need.

Pariveda worked to customize an existing Home Delivery platform on AWS for use by drivers on their mobile devices, a new database, and import jobs to migrate data from the current spreadsheets, and an admin portal for managing customer data, routes, and drivers.

How Pariveda leveraged our Home Delivery Platform offering to help Kids' Meals:

Developed a mobile web application to be used by drivers to deliver meals.
Migrated data from current spreadsheets that helped with process adoption.
Created an admin portal to manage routes, drivers, and customer data.
Designed a "Route Summary" feature that leverages GenAI to provide a daily summary of completed deliveries, along with a list of recommended actions.
